Session Types
There are three different session structures- Prompt, Independent and Feedback.
You can see what session structure we are running this week by checking our schedule.
Prompt Sessions
In these sessions, we use writing prompts to create new work. These can be a fun, sometimes silly, sometimes serious way to write.
Prompt sessions can have all sorts of themes, and might use phrases, sounds, situations or pictures. Each prompt session will focus on one theme in particular.
We take inspirarion for these from within the group. If you have any ideas for prompt sessions, let us know!
Independent Sessions
We use these sessions as a space to work on our own writing. We sit, we might talk a bit during the break and the end, but mostly, we write.
Come and see what you can get done in a room where everyone else is also writing.
Feedback Sessions
In feedback sessions, we come together and share whatever we've been working on in small groups of 3 or 4.
You can bring anything- prose, poetry, drama, work that goes beyond genre. The rough limit for submissions is 1,000 words total. Usually, we ask people to send work ahead of time, but you can also just share the work with your group on the night.
If you don't have anything to share, you're still welcome to listen and participate in the discussion!
